Stainless steel with hardness 55-57 HRC, used in OPINEL blades, is class, optimized to guarantee both high corrosion resistance, as well as high mechanical performance.
The advantage of stainless steel is that it does not require special maintenance under normal conditions of use, unlike carbon steel.
However, can reach its limits if placed in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salty water, cleaning agent …).
